Three People were today charged before the Senior Magistrate of Kampala City Hall Court with two counts of building without a valid building permit and using a prohibited building method.
Sharif Kaweesi, Ismael Ssempijja and Joseph Baleke all residents of Butikirwa Kisasi in Nakawa Division,Kampala were on 16th March 2023 arrested by police after they recorded and circulated a misleading video on Tiktok spreading harmful propaganda about the prohibited Steel- Timber Composite Building Method (STC).
The Steel- Timber concrete Composite Building Method (STC) was banned by the Minister of Works and Transport Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala in September last year under section 42 of the Building Control Act, 2013, after investigations revealed that it is risky and unsafe for the public.
