The Unit is headed by a Senior Legal Officer. The Unit is responsible for providing Legal Services to the Board. Specifically, the Unit is mandated to:

  1. Advise the Board, Management, and Staff on legal matters
  2. Support enforcement of the Act, Regulations, and other related legislation.
  3. Provide legal services to the NBRB including litigation, arbitration, drafting, and reviewing contracts.
  4. Provide legal advice concerning the Building Control Legal Framework
  5. Investigate and enforce cases of violations against statutory requirements as well as recommend disciplinary sanctions in line with the Act.
