National Building Review Board (NBRB) to issued the first digitised Building Permit in Kira  Municipality through the Building Industry Management System (BIMS).

 

BIMS is digitised platform that enables a developer access all the building control services online. Through the online system a developer can now apply for a building and occupation permit, commit the services of professionals, schedule for routine inspection, pay building fees among others.

 

The first online permit was issued to Watoto Church Bwoyogerere in the presence of Kira Municipality Town Clerk Benon Yiga and other officials.

 

Yiga appluaded NBRB’s commitment to ensuring a safe and well built environment and pledged his support to the Board in journey of digitising the building sector.

 

It is hoped the BIMS will remedy delays in the issuance of permits and also put an end to building accidents since the building industry will now be easily monitored.

 

Before the issuance of the first online permit, BIMS has been piloted in Jinja City and Entebbe Municipality. The system will soon be officially launched before a nation wide roll out.
