Despite the lock-down in the country following the COVID-19 pandemic, investigations into the cause of the collapse of several buildings in the country are ongoing. The meetings are aided by current technology that facilitates virtual face to face meetings for investigating parties.

On Friday 15th May 2020, the Secretariat of  National Building Review Board together with representatives from Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers (UIPE), Engineers Registration Board ( ERB) and Uganda Association of Architects (USA)  interviewed the project team to establish the cause of the collapse of Gate-House at speke resort hotel. The national building review board is mandated by law to conduct investigations into the collapse of the different buildings and construction sites in the country.
