COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT

The department is headed by a Manager. It is tasked with leading the compliance monitoring function of the National Building Review Board. Specifically, the department is mandated to:

  1. Monitor Building standards, Regulations, and Supervision Framework.
  2. Establish a framework through which joint Building Control Act supervision is conducted.
  3. Establish a framework to conduct Building control off-site and on-site inspection through a risk-based approach.
  4. Establish a mechanism to address Building control deficiencies identified during onsite and off-site inspections.
  5. Develop and implement a framework to bring onboard non-regulated actors in the building and construction industry.
  6. Enforce measures to address threats and vulnerabilities of Building control deficiencies.
  7. Establish procedures to enforce administrative sanctions against entities that fail to comply with the Building Control Act 2013.
